Burke Torgerson

My name is Burke Torgerson and I have been a resident of Lyman, Utah for most of my life. I graduated from Wayne High School in 1968. attended one year of college at The College of Eastern Utah in Price, Utah and then served an LOS mission to the Southern States. Upon my return, I attended the College of Eastern Utah again where I was fortunate enough to meet my beautiful wife, Barbara Donaldson. We were married September 9, 1972 and moved to Salt Lake where I attended the University of Utah and graduated with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. While attending college, I also worked as an apprentice brick mason. Over the course of getting my education, I also became a licensed Brick Mason and have used this trade over the years to supplement the support of my family.

I graduated from the University of Utah in 1975 and was fortunate to get employment in Wayne School District and move back to Wayne County. Over the course of the next 41 years, I furthered my education by getting a Master's Degree in Education Administration. My wife and I became the parents of seven beautiful children and now have 30 beautiful grandchildren. I loved my teaching career and am still convinced that the best job anyone could have is serving as the principal of Loa Elementary School.

I feel strongly the importance of volunteering and serving in the community and have served on various community boards and organizations. I appreciate the opportunity to serve on the Wayne Community Health Center Board and enjoy the association it provides to serve with the dedicated staff and administration who serve the community.
